The traffic in Jakarta is pretty much legendary in this part of the world. More cars enter the ecosystem each day. Even more motorcycles take to the streets. Traffic is often at a standstill, sometimes improving to a crawl, yet still slower than an average walking pace.
The Go Jek is a motorcycle taxi company that responds to a desperate cell call, takes you to your destination weaving into the small open spaces, and collects a reasonable fare at the end. Traffic congestion is the manic problem, Go Jek a welcome solution.
Oh my gosh does that bring back memories. There is just nothing like weaving through traffic even in a taxi. If I ever make it to Jakarta, I will remember your motorcycle taxi tip. What fun!
